Adding Value to your event presence,

there are so many ways to do it…

Every brand at an event wants to engage with as many attendees as possible, the difficulty is ensuring that attendees have a memorable experience and go away with a lasting, positive impression of your brand. Looking at recruitment fairs in particular, companies often ask ‘how can we engage with a potential candidate past the ‘what does your company offer interaction’ and add value to our presence at the event?’.

There is no one answer to this question but three elements that will add another level to your presence and are worth considering are the below:

1- Include an activity as part of your activation. This can be anything from puzzles to penalty shoot outs. Activities are proven to break down barriers between people, it will allow the staff members to engage with potential candidates in a more relaxed manner over a common interest. Activities also allow peoples personalities shine through and placing a leader board in your space will be sure to highlight those with a competitive nature!

2 – Technology is a must, particularly for events targeted at graduates! Their day to day life includes mobile phones, apps, laptops, tablets, VR and social media. If you can put your brands stamp on the technology, by creating a virtual tour of your workspace, then that’s even better

3 – Showcase something bespoke or unique to your company that candidates can interact with and explore. This works in two ways, it allows the candidates learn more about your organisation and what the work entails as well as prompting them to start a conversation with the staff on site and engage further with the brand

4 – Don’t underestimate the power of social media! Your social media channels should be involved at every stage of the event – before, during and after – to highlight your presence at the event to all followers. The use of Facebook Live has grown hugely over the last year so this is definitely something that should be factored into your event plans and will be sure to get you noticed.

There are numerous other ideas and pieces that brands can look at to add value to their events, these are just a snippet of suggestions that you can tailor to fit with your brand values.
